TEAM HUTT FIS PROGRAM
TRAIN TO RACE/WIN – The Team Hutt FIS program works with all athletes wishing to pursue ski racing, whether they go on to the National Team, or just great all mountain skiers.
Team Hutt FIS Program
This program is geared for the competitive skier with a focus on competition development. Program accepts racers that have participated in a Racing Development Program in the previous ski season. This program includes an expansion of skills in all disciplines of ski racing and training, psychological development, fitness development, and nutrition guidelines.
U14 and U16 aged athletes may join this program on a case by case basis, after discussion with the Program Director.
FIS Athletes will need to get a FIS License and competition in selected FIS races needs to be discussed at a coaches’ discretion. FIS Races and structure provide an even field on which athletes can compare and achieve on a world scale. It provides healthy competition and a professional atmosphere where athletes can develop and achieve their goals and aspirations. This is an important step in achieving national recognition or acceptance to NZ National Ski Racing Programs.
The program includes up to five days per week, which will be scheduled by the program director, and includes all races at Mt Hutt (excluding race entry fees). Away-races will incur additional costs to cover expenses, and each event will be discussed.
Team Hutt accepts athletes from outside of the Canterbury region (domestic & overseas) on a case by case and prearranged basis.
All travel & transport arrangements are at the athletes responsibility.
We encourage all parents to take out their own insurance for unforeseen circumstances. We DO NOT provide refunds for the program. This includes, but not limited to, sickness, injury, weather, mountain closure, pandemic, family issues, or exclusions from the program resulting from breach of our Code of Conduct.
All programs are based on age, but athletes may be grouped based on individual ability and groups may be paired together based on numbers.
* Program Times: The daily scheduled training times are an outline, and may be subject to change based on weather, safety, athlete fatigue, or mountain closure. If the mountain is open, we will endeavour to operate for a minimum of one hour and a maximum of five hours.
